Welcome to my site. Whether youโre here for the first time or the five thousandth timeโIโm glad youโre here. You can read more about me here.
Iโve named this site live in Love; find your true reward (liLfytr). This is what I seek to unpack in everything I write, whether theological, political, educational, creative, or even personal. My hope is that you will grow in love and find your true reward. I expanded on this idea in three posts in 2025:
But if I could summarize it againโtodayโIโd first quote Limp Bizkit from 2000:
I know why you wanna hate me (I know why you wanna hate me)
โTake a Look Aroundโ
Cause hate is all the world has even seen lately
And follow it up with three citations from Jesus (youโll see these references a lot on this site):
- Matthew 24:12 = “Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold” (HCSB)
- Luke 18:8 = “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?” (NRSV)
- John 13:34โ35 = “I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (HCSB)
Love often falls by the wayside because people are more inclined to hate, divide, and argue. Iโm here to spur people to live by faith by living in love, simultaneously fulfilling the Greatest Commandment and streamlining the success of the Great Commission.
But this leads to the subtitle: โWriting for ecumenism in a post-Christian culture.โ
Iโm a writer. I believe the pen is mightier than the sword, even if the sword is often quicker and seemingly more effective. I write (and create) in various genres to spread the love of God, praying that it motivates people to love others as well.
The quotes from Jesus and lyric from Limp Bizkit demonstrate that we are living in a post-Christian culture. The Christian God is the God of love (1 John 4:8, 16), but weโve twisted that beautiful truth so that now โthere is no hate like Christian love.โ If culture is not permeated by Godโs love and if Christians are failing to spread love, then we cannot claim to be a Christian culture.
But what is ecumenism?
Ecumenism is the noun form of the adjective ecumenical. And Dictionary.com defines ecumenical as:
- general, universal.
- pertaining to the whole Christian church.
- promoting or fostering Christian unity throughout the world.
- of or relating to a movement, “ecumenical movement,” especially among Protestant groups since the 1800s, aimed at achieving universal Christian unity and church union through international interdenominational organizations that cooperate on matters of mutual concern.
- interreligious or interdenominational.
- including or containing a mixture of diverse elements or styles; mixed.
While a post dedicated to ecumenism might be helpful, my primary intention is the third definition, though the second one also fits.
Itโs based on John 17:21โ23, where Jesus prays for all his followers to be one. This will not happen by accident. So we must humble ourselves, pray for patience and grace, and work together to see Christโs prayer answered.
I write and rap and speak to this end.
In this with you.
